- A Digital Atlantic Ocean from pole to pole
The MOHID Water modeling system can simulate watersheds, estuaries, coastal areas, and open ocean conditions for multiple applications.
This open-source model is a tool implemented in many Atlantic countries and further collaboration can be explored.
Numerical models are key for the digital twin of the ocean. and to provide advice in the coastal areas. The MOHID model is a robust tool originally developed by MARETEC in Instituto Superior Técnico (Portugal) with contributions from partners from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, with more than 250 journal and book chapters publications and has received contributions from more than 80 MSc and PhD thesis.
A set of networking activities, such as online workshops, and material to foster collaboration and transfer know-how and share methods and tools to tackle several coastal threats such as oil spill, marine litter, coastal erosion, HABs, eutrophication and bathing water quality.
