- Implementation of pole-to-pole cooperation in polar research
Initiate a dialogue with the All-Atlantic partners to discuss how to better share our polar infrastructures and logistics and provide cross-border acc
Sharing polar infrastructure resources will minimise the environmental impacts of polar research activities and built new All-Atlantic partnerships
Physical access to polar research infrastructures – vessels, stations, and aircraft – is essential for polar science. We will discuss with the All-Atlantic partners how we can improve access to and interoperability of our polar infrastructures. This will help to avoid duplication, minimise fragmentation, and foster cooperation between the All-Atlantic partners. Access to excellent infrastructures is an essential pre-condition to create new ideas and to tackle complex science questions.
We plan regular meetings (virtual and presential) to get an overview about each other’s polar programmes and infrastructures and to discuss possibilities to share these assets. The deliverables will be minutes of these meetings. The timeframe for the pledge is one year. We are planning to organise at least two meetings, one of which presential.
